  • SETTLE IN THE HEART OF IT ALL.
When vacationing in London, it is ideal to stay in the center of the action. Doing so will help you visit more sights in less time and save a good amount of money on transport and the overall trip.
Once you’re settled in central London, check out these neighborhoods: Trafalgar, Westminster, Soho bank side, Covent Garden, and South Bank, close to the London Eye.
If you want to save money on hotels, then the Nox Hotel Waterloo and Point A Hotel London Westminster are ideal choices.
  • AVOID THE HOLIDAY RUSH.
London is the busiest in July and August, especially during the school breaks and European bank holidays. If you want to get better prices on your trip, it’ll be much better to avoid these times because smaller crowds equal lower prices.
Also, during the holiday season, it will be best to stay away from the main shopping streets on the weekends because it’ll be much harder to see the sights or spend within budget. For a tip, visit London in June during the spring break when schools are still on.
  • DON’T ATTEMPT TO ‘SEE IT ALL.
One of the main reasons some tourists are dissatisfied with their trip is because they believe they can visit everywhere In just a matter of days. While you can visit the main attractions in 2 days, you can’t possibly see everywhere in the same amount of time.
London is a vast city, and you can’t see it all in a few days, even weeks, so don’t assume that you can. As a first-timer, it’s advised to plan at least 3-4 days to familiarize yourself with the city and its prominent landmarks.
Also, it’s recommended to plan a 5-7 days trip and don’t limit yourself to just the city itself. If you want your holiday to feel more special and memorable, visit places outside the city. For even more fun, visit 2 or 3 main attractions every day at most, and give yourself time for spontaneous discoveries. Doing this will no doubt make your holiday an adventure.
  • BOOK AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
If you want to get the most out of London, then you best start preparing everything in advance, from your flights to the activities and attractions you want to see. Booking and planning everything as early as possible will allow you sufficient time to decide what you want to do and to save good money on deals.
If you plan to visit main attractions such as; The Shards, Madame Tussauds, and The London Eye, you best buy the tickets online because you will likely get them at a lower price, significantly a day earlier than your visit.
If you also want to see a musical, then get your tickets in advance as well. If you wait until the last minute, then chances are you will not get great seats which can be a real bummer.
  • MAKE THE MOST OF THE FREE ATTRACTIONS.
A trip to London is by no means cheap in the least, but there are other popular attractions that it has that don’t require you to break the bank. As much as you want to visit all the famous sights and landmarks, it wouldn’t hurt to save a little extra cash and explore as many of London’s free attractions as possible. Here are some of those free attractions you can make the most out of.
SHOPS – while shopping in London is not a breeze, visiting the shops will not cost you a penny. Shops like Oxford Street and Harvard are a must-see. Also, for the kids, be sure to pay a visit to Hamleys, m&m store, and the Lego store as well.
MUSEUMS – London offers you a wide variety of museums that don’t cost anything to see. The British Museum, Tate Museum, National Gallery, and many other museums are at your fingertips with no extra cost.
GARDENS AND PARKS – London is also well known for its beautiful and well-kept gardens and parks. These parks are an excellent location to relax and unwind and get away from the busy city life.
